GOYA

An orthodox ministry focused on the youth ages 13-18 focused on 4 basic principles: Worship, Service, Fellowship and Witness.

Meetings: 

On the first Sunday of each month, 5:30- 7:00pm (unless otherwise indicated) meetings consist of: meal,  brief business, religious education/discussion, and a follow up activity. Location and meeting  and activities are subject to change.

Paraklesis and Pareia:  Paraklesis is a prayer service that all teens can learn and make part of their lives. Pariea is social bonding. Combining these themes brings the teens together in Christ.

Youth Sundays: Sundays dedicated to teen service in the Church. On these designated Sundays, two older Goyans serve as ushers . All Goyans sponsor the coffee hour (setting up, bringing items, etc) .

Activities: These will include: retreats, trips, basketball tournaments, charities, and the like @one per month.

Service: Youth Sundays, Caritas, Caroling

Fund-Raisers: Brunswick stew, Cultural Night, tournamnet

Three Retreats: Fall Oktoberfest, Winter Lock-in, Spring; Tidewater.

Spring Trip : St Basil's Academy to support the orphanage

Four Basketball Tournaments:Bethesda, Newport News, Norfolk, and Richmond

Goya Basketball:  Boys "A" (varsity) and Boys "B" (junior varsity), Girls " A" and possibly  Girls "B"

These are weekly or bi-weekly practices set by coaches.
