Adult Singles Group
"In Good Company" - A social program for single Orthodox men and women, 35 years of age and over. Regularly scheduled activities include dining out, sporting events, musical performances, Sunday brunches, and the theater. Fr. John Manuel, 358-5996.

AHEPA
A nationally affiliated organization whose purpose is to
promote and retain the values of Hellenic heritage. The organization is
comprised of men in our congregation who meet monthly
and provide support
to our community through fellowship scholarships and other social activities.

Bible Study
We offer a variety of Bible Study classes to accommodate
all schedules. An early morning Bible Group meets before work twice during
each month. Adult Bible Study meets bimonthly during the morning. Our
youth groups also offer age-appropriate Bible lessons to our younger members.
Check our church calendar for specific dates and times of all Bible Study
groups.

Byzantio is a Hellenic Dance group dedicated to the authentic
representation and preservation of traditional Hellenic Dances. To this extent, the members
freely give their valuable time toward the learning a perfecting of these dances and in so doing
promote their own heritage.

Choir
The cathedral choir represents a meaningful part of our
church services. The choir also participates in concert activities and
choir workshops in other church communities throughout the country.

Daughters of Penelope
Also a nationally affiliated organization in which the women
of our congregation meet to promote the values of Hellenic heritage. This
organization supports our church through philanthropic activities, social
events, and fellowship.

Greek Orthodox Youth Association
This organization provides broad-based support for our youth,
ages thirteen to eighteen. GOYA sponsors an annual "friends dance", a
Fall Carnival, an annual mountain hike, overnight retreats with speakers
and discussion groups on contemporary teen issues.

|
Greek School
Classes in Greek language and culture are available from
preschool through adult level. In addition to conversational Greek, the
classes also highlight Greek culture and history. High school students
may fulfill a school language requirement through our Greek School.

A cultural organization dedicated to fostering Greek Heritage and orthodoxy.

Hope and Joy
A program for children ages five to twelve years old and
their parents; Hope and Joy provides religious, recreational, and cultural
activities to enhance beliefs, practices, and traditions of our church.
Together, young families enjoy potluck suppers, filed trips, sports and
Bible study.

Leisure Group
A program for men and women over the age of 55. This group
meets once a month during the week of worship service, lunch and social
activities. The Philoptochos Society sponsors their program.

Maids of Athena
An organization for single women who join together to participate
in cultural and philanthropic activities.

||
|
Orthodox Series
Programs offered by Father Nicholas Bacalis, (monthly) and
by Youth Director, Father John Manuel (weekly) explore and strengthen our understanding
of the history, traditions and practices of the Orthodox Church.

Pan Arcadian Society
A group represented by Richmond residents whose ancestry
can be traced to the Arcadian region of Greece.
|
||
|
Pan Cretan Association
A group of Richmond residents whose ancestry can be traced
to the island of Crete.

|
Philoptochos
A national philanthropic organization of the Greek Orthodox
Church supported by the women of our congregation. The goals of Philoptochos
include philanthropy, prop
agation of the faith, education, and training.
This dedicated women's group sponsors fundraising events, supports our
seminaries, and provides valuable information to our community on health
and social issues. Philoptochos sponsor the mini-Greek Festival, hosts
a welcoming dinner for new church members, and provides luncheons and
activities for seniors.

Sunday School
Traditional religious education for preschool to twelfth
grade during church. A rewarding experience for those who volunteer to
teach.
|

|
Vacation Bible School
For one week each July, parents and youth volunteers
put on a spiritual, educational, and entertaining camp session for the
children of our community. Children learn about Christ faith, and the
Bible trough songs, crafts, games, and storytelling.

|
Young Adult League
A social group for ages eighteen and older. This group enjoys
social, religious, and athletic activities. Discussion groups, outings
to points of interest, a volleyball tournament, and religious social retreats
are among YAL's annual events.
